Last night I was at a local motorcycle mechanics garage watching them install the latest farkle on my recently purchased Yamaha FJR1300. I reached for the iPhone in my pocket and saw the news that Steve Jobs had died.

I have never been that sad about someone’s passing that I have never met. But like so many, Steve Jobs had an impact on my life in an indirect but tangible way. For several years I have enjoyed the products Steve Jobs helped create. In particular…
