Roland Sands debuts and crashes new Indian at the Buffalo Chip

In what was supposed to be a highlight event for Indian, Roland Sands crashes the new Indian FTR750 in to the crowd at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis. The Roland Sands crash at the Buffalo Chip is sure to be one of those embarrassing viral videos that he will have to live down.

During the debut appearance of the new Indian motorcycle Roland Sands is introduced to the crowd and he proceeds to ride the motorcycle off the edge of the stage in to the crowd. The voice on the PA can be heard stating just before the crash that the bike has no front brake, common for a flat track motorcycle which this is. Sands obviously was not aware of this and did a header into the packed crowd from the top of the stage as can be seen in the video below.

Four people were reportedly injured with two spending the night in a local hospital. They were released from the hospital later the next day. We wish all those involved a speedy recovery from the incident.

Roland Sands is an incredibly skilled rider and just goes to show that all of us need to take precautions anytime we climb aboard a motorcycle.
